The Artist

Origins

In 1992, enchanted by the landscape, space and wild life of Australia, Polish born Malgorzata Malzacher left Poland and made her home in Canberra. A master's degree in architecture (Cracow Technical University, Poland) gave Malgorzata a comprehensive understanding of design, which enabled her to launch Malgorzata Design Studio.

1994 was the first year that her works were exhibited with The Australian Craft Show. For the following 11 years she had continued holding annual displays at this event in Canberra and Sydney.

For many years Malgorzata Design Studio has its display at the Old Bus Depot Markets at Kingston every Sunday.

Style

Initially designing and handcrafting her unique styled jewellery, she followed on with the development of many other lines of handcrafted artwork: mirrors, pictures, hand painted glass, belts and clocks.

Recently she enjoys designing modal scarves and also Christmas tree baubles.

Over time Malgorzata has developed her distinctive style, which is easily recognized by Australian and international customers.

Inspiration

Malgorzata draws on her Polish heritage along with her love for Australian fauna and flora. The rock formations of Australian coastal areas have also provided inspiration for her designs.
